Peggy Papastavrou

Peggy Papastavrou has been deeply committed for 25 years to promote to the entrepreneurs the value of the Athens Stock Exchange as an alternative effective tool for their growth.

Initially as legal adviser, later as Head of Business Development, from 2020 till November 2024 as Listings Director and currently as Business Development Director, Mrs. Papastavrou has continuously worked for the development of the domestic capital market, with the aim of supporting Greek entrepreneurship.

Under her management, the Listing Division’s team has worked with extroversion and creativity, succeeding in attracting new stock and bond listings, strengthening cooperation with listed companies and highlighting the financing opportunities offered by the Exchange, contributing to the overall growth of the market.

Recognizing the potential of sectors like the Greek ocean -going shipping, Mrs. Papastavrou spearheaded initiatives to bring this industry that traditionally preferred the US market, into ATHEX for the first time, demonstrating ATHEX’s ability to tap into new sectors and create value for both investors and entrepreneurs.

With client-oriented approach the Listings Division offered to listed companies constant support and top quality services on 24/7 basis.

With Mrs. Papastavrou’s decisive contribution, major projects were accomplished, such as the reformation of the ATHEX Rulebook aiming at attracting new listings, boosting trading activity and improving companies’ investment profile, and the redesign of the Alternative Market to be vested with the “SMEs Growth Market” status, facilitating easier access to capital for smaller companies.

Aiming at promoting sustainable growth, the Listings Division carried out many initiatives in order to raise awareness of the ESG culture and the importance of corporate governance at the creation of value for corporates, contributing to the emergence of the Exchange into a catalyst for accelerating growth and driving positive changes to the Greek entrepreneurship.
