The Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center is a modern, specialized hospital with a non-profit, public benefit mission. It is dedicated to providing high-quality and documented healthcare to patients of all ages with cardiac problems.

In response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the center implemented a series of measures to reduce the risk of exposure for staff and patients, which have had impressive results: a nearly zero rate of COVID-19 cases in patients (<0.01%), increased productivity, high clinical excellence (mortality rate of 1.17, patient satisfaction of 99.6%), high immunization of staff (99.3%), high compliance with preventive measures, empowerment of human resources, expansion of the facility, and a gradual transition to digital services. The center has received recognition for its successful management of the pandemic at the national and international level. Under the leadership of Panagiotis Minogiannis, the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center has worked to financially consolidate the organization and strengthen its strategic planning, including investments in technology, digital transformation, and "precision" medicine. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the center has maintained its turnover, protected the safety of staff and patients, and taken advantage of a donation from the Onassis Foundation to support the development of the National Onassis Transplantation Center, positioning the center for future growth.
