Michel Montbertrand

Michel Montbertrand has extensive expertise in Legal, Compliance, Governance and Internal Control systems fields. He is the Chairman of ASCO Greece (Association of Compliance Officers), member of the Athens Bar Association, and the Cyprus Bar Association. Currently, he serves as the Compliance & Corporate Governance Director and Secretary to the Board of Directors of Ethniki Asfalistiki.

Throughout his career, Mr. Montbertrand has held key roles, including Head of Compliance and Deputy DPO at Groupama Asfalistiki, and Legal & Compliance Director and Internal Auditor at ALD Automotive Group – Societe Generale. He also served as Head of Compliance at SOGECAP Insurance (Societe Generale Group) and advised the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure. Earlier, he was an Associate Lawyer at Karatzas & Partners.

Mr. Montbertrand studied law in Paris and Strasbourg and holds a master’s degree in Corporate Law, an MBA, and certifications in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering from TÜV Austria and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He is fluent in English, French, and Greek.
