Katerina Makridou Oraiopoulou

Katerina Makridou-Oraiopoulou is the ESG & Corporate Communication Director at Barba Stathis, a leading food company in Greece. She has a 17-year experience in corporate communications, marketing, and sustainability with nearly eight years of tenure in BarbaStathis where she has been the driving force behind the company’s transformation into a national benchmark for sustainability and responsible business practices.
•    Under her leadership, Barba Stathis created a holistic action plan that embedded sustainability and ESG in all aspects of the company’s operations achieving extraordinary results that were recognized by EcoVadis awarding to the company, the prestigious Platinum Certification, placing it among the top 1% of companies globally for ESG performance in both 2024 and 2025. BarbaStathis was also named among the Most Sustainable Companies in Greece 2024 and 2025 and among the Most Admired Companies in Greece in 2024 and 2025. She has spearheaded the integration of ESG principles into every aspect of the company’s operations—from renewable energy adoption and zero-waste certification to inclusive employment and community outreach.
Katerina’s strategic vision led to the development of the company’s ESG Data Governance System, alignment with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and full compliance with global reporting standards such as GRI, SASB, and AA1000AP but most importantly aided in the company’s transformative journey into bringing to life the company’s operating principles of sustainable growth and continued improvement.
She is a passionate advocate for transparency, equity, and innovation, and her leadership exemplifies the power of ESG to drive business excellence and societal progress which is what this award ought to recognize!

Η Κατερίνα Μακρίδου-Ωραιοπούλου είναι Διευθύντρια ESG & Εταιρικής Επικοινωνίας στην ΜΠΑΡΜΠΑ ΣΤΑΘΗΣ, μία από τις κορυφαίες εταιρείες τροφίμων στην Ελλάδα. Με εμπειρία 17 ετών στην εταιρική επικοινωνία, το marketing και τη βιωσιμότητα, και με σχεδόν οκτώ χρόνια θητείας στην ΜΣ, αποτελεί την κινητήριο δύναμη πίσω από τον μετασχηματισμό της εταιρείας σε εθνικό πρότυπο βιώσιμης ανάπτυξης και υπεύθυνης επιχειρηματικότητας.

• Υπό την ηγεσία της, η ΜΠΑΡΜΠΑ ΣΤΑΘΗΣ σχεδίασε και υλοποίησε ένα ολιστικό πλάνο δράσης που ενσωμάτωσε τη βιωσιμότητα και τις αρχές ESG σε κάθε πτυχή της λειτουργίας της, επιτυγχάνοντας εξαιρετικά αποτελέσματα.
