Aimilios Chalamandaris

Aimilios Chalamandaris was a co-founder and CEO of Innoetics, a spin-off company from the ATHINA Research Center. Since 2017 and after innoetics’s acquisition by Samsung Electronics, he is the head of the Greek R&D division for Samsung.

His team is responsible for the Text-to-Speech technology powering Samsung’s huge ecosystem of devices and services. Together with his colleagues, he has co-authored more than 50 original peer-reviewed scientific papers, while the technology built by his team is preloaded on every mobile device produced by the biggest mobile phone manufactuter in the world, Samsung.

Almost 5.5 years after this goal setting, Aimilios’s team has been recognised as one of the most important R&D teams within the group, becoming a success story not only for the Greek startup ecosystem, but also for all Sasmung teams worldwide. Amilios is a big supporter of the Greek startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem in multiple roles (mentor, investor & angel investor).

Since 2020 he is also serving as a member of the National Council for Research and Innovation, the supreme advisory body for the formulation and implementation of the national policy for Research, Technology and Innovation in Greece.
