Angela Varela

Angela Varela is the President of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). She has previously served as Head of the Domestic and International Services Directorate at the GNTO and as General Manager of GNTO Promotion.

She holds a degree in Public Administration and Legal and Administrative Studies from Panteion University, along with postgraduate studies in Tourism Business Administration and in New Media and Journalism.

Fluent in English, Italian, Spanish, and French, Varela brings over four decades of experience at the GNTO, where she has held senior positions including Director of Public Relations, Director of Promotion, and leadership posts in the GNTO offices in Sweden and Serbia. Her extensive expertise combines operational know-how with strategic insight in tourism promotion.
