Yannis Freris

Yiannis Freris is the Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainable Development at GEFYRA SA. He has served on the board of directors for the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) for four terms and founded the CSR section of the organization.

Yiannis has a long career as the head of corporate communication and sustainable development at GEFYRA SA, starting with the construction of the National Bridge (Rio-Antirio) from 1997 to 2004 and continuing to the present. He has a history of involvement in sustainable development, including his participation on the organizing committee of the Davos World Communication Forum and his tenure as Vice-President of the Corporate Affairs Department at the Hellenic Management Association (HMA).

Yiannis Freris has played a key role in introducing the concept of “citizenship” into the language of Greek responsible entrepreneurship and pushing his company towards the next level of civility, “corporate activism” (specifically, for women’s rights). This year, he received a gold award in the Women Empowerment Awards for his efforts.
